Results of My Works For Solution 10/10/2011

Solution of social problems is surely difficult. It's complicated and accident-prone. The ones who claim to solve social problems have to be well informed, brave, volunteer and self sacrificing.

Nobody interested in overcoming of discrimination maden in written sources including humiliating discourse against Gypsies until now. I would never forgive myself if i haven't tried to solve this problem although i know it exists.

Gypsy Image In Peoples Mind 08/08/2011

I want to share you some of my memories to show you the image of Gypsies in peoples mind. I want you to see and understand this image.

-When i graduated from elementary school i asked one of my teachers who knew and liked me that if it's allowed to marry with Gypsies? "No" he said. "It's not allowed to marry with Gypsies". I was shocked. I couldn't ask him "Why?". Worsely, i couldn't say the girl i loved "I love you".

Discrimination Maden In Turkish Dictionaries 30/06/2011

The word Çingene (Gypsy) were identified falsely in all Turkish dictionaries (except one) published by various foundation in our country. Gypsies were identified as piker, rapacious, randy, cheeky in the dictionaries. Some adjectives like "covetous, dirty,shameless" were added to some of the dictionaries too as the identification of Gypsy.

Expressions related to Gypsies like "Çingene pembesi (Gypsy pink), Çingene parası (Gypsy money), Çingene düğünü (Gypsy wedding), Çingene kavgası (Gypsy fight), Çingenelik (Being Gypsy)..." were written with their explanation including a discriminative mentality full of prejudices in the dictionaries.

Oral Accusations Against Gypsies 16/06/2011

Gypsy society is being accused wrongly becauseof a legend which is popular among publicity. This slander, which is not suitable to humanity and religion, is about Prophet Abraham to be thrown into fire by King Nemrut 45 centuries ago.

According to the legend a brother and a sister named Cin and Gen were forced for incest relationship to make possible Prophet Abraham to be thrown into fire (This was the only way to dismiss protector angels.). They and their descendants (It's claimed by people who tell the legend that they were named Çingene pointing at their ancestors names) were cursed by God because this behaviour according to the legend! It's believed by many people that marrying with Gypsies is forbidden according to Islam because of the event.

To Be Gypsy Or Not To Be 18/05/2011

I was knowing Gypsies have been excluded as i faced exclusion when i was a child and teenager. I was sorry for the situation. After years, i saw that there are unfair charges against us in dictionaries published by public foundations, encyclopedias, books of scholars and even in some laws...

Some text including discriminative speech were deleted from the dictionaries with my long termed legal struggle.
